Course Details

Duration: 5 Days
Dates: Monday 15th – Friday 19th September 2025
Times: 09:00 – 17:00
Location: East London

What Makes Our Training Different

We do things differently to most providers. You’ll be taught by two experienced clinicians, not one so there's more time for questions, practice, and hands-on learning. We keep things realistic, using proper kit, mock patients, and scenarios that reflect the kinds of jobs you’ll actually go to.

We don’t believe in death by PowerPoint or box-ticking. Our focus is on making sure you leave confident, competent, and ready for the real world.

What's Changed?

The FREC 3 qualification has recently been updated. There’s now just one multiple-choice exam and one anatomy & physiology paper. All other assessment is practical and ongoing. The course remains scenario-based, hands-on, and delivered by active clinicians using realistic kit.

Course Content

You’ll cover:

  • Scene safety and primary survey

  • Patient assessment and vital signs

  • Major trauma and catastrophic bleeding

  • Airway management and oxygen

  • Medical emergencies (cardiac, diabetic, stroke etc.)

  • AED use and basic life support

  • Communication, documentation, and handover

All training is delivered by experienced Paramedics, EMTs, and frontline responders.

Optional Add-Ons

Additional modules may be available on request:

  • Supraglottic airway insertion

  • Penthrox (methoxyflurane) use

  • Naloxone (IN/IM)

  • Blood glucose monitoring

  • Entonox administration

These can only be delivered if the individual or organisation booking training provides evidence of:

  1. A genuine operational need

  2. Clinical governance arrangements to support the skills in practice

Let us know at the time of booking if this applies—we’ll talk you through what’s needed.

Who Should Attend

This course is ideal for:

  • Close Protection Officers

  • Security and Fire Service personnel

  • Event medics

  • High-risk industry staff

  • Anyone entering or progressing in a pre-hospital care role

No previous clinical training is needed, but you should be prepared for five full-on days of hands-on learning.

Requalification

FREC 3 requal is required every 3 years:

  • If you can show evidence of regular BLS updates, the requal is now 2 days

  • If not, it remains 3 days

You’ll need to send us your existing certificate and any BLS evidence in advance. If your certificate has expired, you’ll need to retake the full 5-day course.

Booking

Spaces are limited and London courses fill up quickly. Get in touch to book or find out more—we’re happy to advise on requal options, evidence requirements, or suitability for optional modules.
