FREC 3 Course Description

Is a FREC 3 Qualification Right for You?

If you're searching for "FREC 3 courses near me," look no further. NR Medical Training offers the Qualsafe First Response Emergency Care (FREC 3) Level 3 RQF, a nationally accredited qualification ideal for anyone aspiring to be a first responder. This course is tailored for a wide range of professionals, including police officers, firefighters, and event medical staff, as well as roles like Emergency/Community First Responders, Door Supervisors, and Security Guards.

This FREC 3 qualification is also a top choice for those employed in high-risk sectors such as the military, power stations, agriculture, and manufacturing. Designed to meet the ever-changing demands of pre-hospital care, our FREC 3 course has been rigorously reviewed and updated, making it a highly desirable qualification for those looking to advance their career in emergency medical response.

What sets this qualification apart is its recognition by the Security Industry Authority (SIA), making it often a prerequisite for licensing in roles like Close Protection Officers (CPOs), maritime security, and other private security positions. Additionally, it has received the endorsement of the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care (FPHC) at PHEM level D, further enhancing its credibility and applicability in various high-risk and first responder roles.

If your business operates in a lower-risk environment, you might also consider our 1 or 3-day first aid courses, such as the Emergency First Aid at Work Course or our comprehensive First Aid at Work Course.

Dual-Instructor Advantage on Our FREC 3 Courses!

At NR Medical Training, we take pride in offering a unique training experience that stands out from the standard approach adopted by many training centres. In our FREC 3 courses and FREC 4 courses, we ensure the presence of not just one, but a minimum of two expert instructors. Our team, comprising seasoned Paramedics and EMTs, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the classroom. Unlike other centres that often rely on a single instructor, our dual-instructor strategy elevates the learning experience, providing a more engaging, realistic, and in-depth training environment. This model allows for more intricate and lifelike training scenarios, offering learners the opportunity to benefit from the diverse expertise and real-life insights of our professional instructors. This approach not only enriches the course content but also equips our learners with a comprehensive understanding and practical skills needed to thrive in demanding emergency situations. Our commitment to this enhanced training format is a testament to our dedication to delivering exceptional emergency care education.

FAQ’s

  • The First Response Emergency Care Level 3 (FREC 3) is a 5-day prehospital care training program specifically designed for those interested in pursuing careers in emergency services, ambulance services, the event medical sector, or in high-risk industries. It is a nationally recognized and regulated prehospital care qualification that has been clinically endorsed by the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and meets the competencies outlined in the Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) skills framework at descriptor level D.

For those seeking even more specialized training, the Rescue Trauma And Casualty Care Course (RTACC) is the perfect option. Developed to meet the specific needs of emergency services and high-risk industries, this 4-day course offers practical life-saving skills based on extensive research and practical experience. It is accredited and meets the recommendations of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh's Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care (FPHC) and Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) at Level E (one level higher than FREC).

Through hands-on experience, live actors, casualty simulation, and focused lectures, RTACC prepares learners to effectively recognize and manage time-critical injuries with appropriate interventions. The course provides a unique blend of practical and academic learning, ensuring that learners gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to handle catastrophic medical and trauma situations.

  • The The UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) states, “The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. These Regulations apply to all workplaces including those with less than five employees and to the self-employed.”

  • The UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recommends that every workplace carry a first aid kit. This is not the law. However, it is a legal responsibility to offer 'prompt attention' to injured personnel. It is thus strongly advised to follow this guidance in order to avoid breaching the law.

  • First, review the UK Health and Safety Executive's recommendations. This specifies how many first responders your organisation should have based on its size and risk level. In addition, you will need to do a risk assessment. This will include the equipment your employees utilise, the nature of their work, and any other elements that may have an influence on workplace safety. Use our first aid requirements calculator here.

  • Our FREC 3 training courses are primarily conducted at our dedicated venue in Bury St Edmunds, offering a fully equipped and comfortable setting for learners. For businesses looking to minimise costs and reduce workforce downtime, we also provide the option to host our courses at your premises. Additionally, if your location is not suitable for training, we can arrange appropriate facilities elsewhere. We are flexible in delivering first aid courses throughout Suffolk and neighbouring counties, including Norfolk, Lincolnshire, Essex and Cambridgeshire.
