Taught by experienced Paramedics and EMTs who have seen and managed everything on the course. Spanning a comprehensive 2-day workshop, this hands-on, face-to-face course provides real-world solutions to real-world problems. Whether it's handling a sudden injury during a riding session or managing a complex trauma situation, our course offers you the skills, insights, and confidence to act appropriately.

How long is the Equine First Aid course?
Our newly launched Equestrian First Aid and Trauma course is an in-depth two-day programme. It's carefully crafted to provide you with the critical knowledge and practical skills needed to address the unique range of emergency situations common in the equestrian environment.
We offer flexible delivery options for the course, providing you the choice to host the training either directly at your equestrian site, or at an offsite training venue. Whatever your preference, we're committed to making this essential education accessible and convenient.
Do I need previous experience?
No prior knowledge or experience is required. However, we recommend that candidates have attended an emergency first aid at work course in the past.
What’s covered on the Equestrain First Aid & Trauma course?

Conduct a safe and thorough primary & secondary survey

Deliver effective CPR and use an AED safely (for both adults, children & infants)

Provide safe unconscious casualty management and manage seizures
-
Manage someone who is choking
-
Manage casualties with head injuries
-
Understand and be able to implement MILS (manual inline stabilisation)

Provide effective care to those who have sustained a crush injury
-
Manage a casualty that has fallen from height
-
Manage those with chest injuries
-
Understand both penetrating trauma and blunt force trauma and how to manage these casualties

Manage casualties with fractures

Manage burn injuries
Assessment
To achieve your qualification(s) you’ll need to complete:
6 x practical assessments/skills tests
2 x theory assessments (multiple choice question papers)
