Clinical Skills Training for Care Staff: Why it matters and what we do
If your team’s supporting someone with a trachy, a PEG, or seizures, they need more than a link to an online course. This kind of care needs real training — the sort that’s delivered face-to-face, with kit they’ll actually use, by someone who’s done it in the real world.
That’s what we offer. Face-to-face, nurse-led training that fits your team and your environment. No off-the-shelf modules — just training that makes sense in real life.
PEG, Tracheostomy & Complex Care Training: What we cover
We run clinical training for care providers across all sorts of services — supported living, care homes, respite units, and more.
We tailor each session depending on your staff and the people you support. New starters? We slow it down. Experienced team? We make it more advanced.
Common topics include:
-
PEG / JEJ / NG feeding
How to flush, feed, and spot problems early
-
Tracheostomy care
Routine suction, changing tubes, emergency drills
-
Seizure support & buccal midazolam
Types of seizures, safe admin, aftercare
-
Vagal nerve stimulator (VNS)
When to use the magnet, how to record use
-
Stoma care
Daily care, appliance changes, skin integrity, troubleshooting
-
Insulin administration
Dose prep, safe injection technique, recognising hypo/hyperglycaemia
-
Oxygen and suction
Safe use, storage, infection control basics
-
Sepsis & NEWS 2 awareness
Early recognition, escalation, using observational cues as well as understanding the NEWS2 tool, spotting deterioration, what to escalate and when
-
Combined training packages
When a service user’s needs don’t fit neatly in a box
Nurse-Led Training at Your Location: How it works
We come to you. Anywhere in the UK.
Sessions run as either a half day or full day. Around 12 staff per nurse trainer works well — small enough for hands-on learning and proper sign-off, but big enough to make it cost-effective.
Training is fully insured and competency-based. We don’t hand out attendance certificates and call it a day — we assess, coach, and sign off staff properly.
You choose the timing. We’ll fit around shifts, team changes, and whatever else is going on in your service.
Bespoke Clinical Care Training: Not as expensive as it sounds
We get it — “bespoke” often makes people think it’s going to be pricey. But that’s not how we work.
We’ve built lots of custom packages before, so creating something new isn’t starting from scratch. We do it quickly, we do it well, and we don’t charge through the roof for it.
Need a course that covers PEG, seizures and stoma’s? Or trachy care alongside oxygen therapy? We can build that. We’ll come out for a free site visit if it helps, have a look, talk to your team, and then put something together that works — without wasting anyone’s time.
Training Costs for Care Providers: Fair, transparent, and realistic
We don’t publish fixed prices online because the needs of each service can be so different — but we’ll say this:
It’s not thousands. It’s not corporate. You won’t need to go through procurement teams or sit through a sales pitch.
We’ll give you a straightforward quote based on what you actually need, and we’ll stand by it. No surprises.
CQC-Compliant Training: What we provide for audits and inspections
If you’ve got delegated tasks like PEG feeding or trachy care on your care plans, you need to show staff are trained and competent. That’s where we come in.
All training includes:
Signed competency paperwork
Attendance list
Certificates (Digital)
Overview of what was taught and how it was assessed
It’s the kind of documentation you can hand to your CQC inspector and feel confident about.

Clinical Training for Carers – FAQs We’re Often Asked
-
Only registered professionals — usually nurses — with the right background. That’s who delivers all our sessions.
-
Yes. Staff need to be trained and signed off as competent before doing anything with a trachy. Our training covers both day-to-day care and what to do if something goes wrong.
-
Yes, as long as it’s written into the care plan and they’ve had the right training. We cover that, and we sign them off too.
Midazolam isn’t listed in Section 19 of the Human Medicines Regulations, but it is listed in Schedule 19, under Regulation 238.
This allows any person to administer it in an emergency (e.g. status epilepticus) to save life, even if they are not a registered healthcare professional. However, appropriate training is essential as Midazolam can have some potentially life threatening side effects. -
Absolutely. We come to you and use the kit your staff are going to use. That’s the whole point — it needs to feel real. However, if you need us to bring equipment we can arrange for this.
-
Yes — it supports Regulation 12 and Regulation 18. We give you all the documentation you need to evidence training and competence.
-
Up to 12 per trainer usually works well, but smaller is fine too. We’ll guide you depending on the topic.
